The former director of the CIA said on Sunday that Col. Moammar Gadhafi is “loving the international attention” caused by the weeklong military siege that has battered and killed forces loyal to the Libyan leader.
Michael Hayden, the former head of the intelligence agency under Presidents George W. Bush and Obama, said that there is no end-game for the U.S. other than removing Gadhafi, who has ruled over the country for more than 40 years.
“When we took the first military action that was kind of the informal contract that we signed that we’re in this until he goes away,” said Hayden on CNN’s "State of the Union." “He’s loving this. He’s loving the international attention, so frankly his going away will have to be involuntarily.”
